1) Select the Right Container – Your flowers are no longer in the ground, and without roots, they’ll need hydration. Choose a vase that suits your taste and fill it with fresh, clean water to quench your flowers’ thirst.
2) Regularly Trim the Stems – A good trim not only keeps your flowers looking fresh but also enhances their water absorption. Always cut the stems at an angle to prevent them from resting flat on the vase’s base, which could obstruct water intake. Revisit your flowers every few days and trim approximately an inch off if the stem ends appear slimy or discolored.
3) Clear Away Extra Leaves – Excessive leaves, especially those submerged in water, can sap water away from the flowers and encourage bacterial growth. Ensure all leaves below the waterline are removed to prolong the life and vibrancy of your blooms.
